Hello everyone, I am Liam from Aberdeenshire. I currently do not own an evo but hopefully next year that will change. I have always really wanted one as I think they are amazing all round cars that look absolutely stunning! I will be looking for a standard evo 9 fq340 preferably blue with the six speed box.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. How much did you pay for your evo w4lton? I have a budget of between 10 and 12k. Hoping to get a nice standard lowish mile one for that money.

I got it at a good price really, had 42k on the clock, 06plate "mainly motorway use" full service history, every service in place. clutch was replaced at 51k with an upgraded exedy. I paid £12.800 6months ago I found The blue 9s are a bit more £ when looking and only found 3 blues for sale. car is mint!! I did haggle ;) .... that was standerd apart from the clutch. then 3months later got a little restless and decided i wanted more hp so £900 later im @ 412bhp/402lbs.

Just always keep her up to date with services, check the oil, water, all the fluids once a week, "a bit much but i like to keep track" and it wont let ya down. makes a little hole in the wallet but hey its a Dam EVO :p GL mate.

Do the clutches usually go at that amount of miles? must be a rite weapon of a car at 412bhp. After spending thousands on my pulsar in modifications and not finishing the project I started due to thousands more needing to be spent and the realisation that I could have owned an evo by now, I think nice and "trouble free" standard is the way I want to go with this car. I hope its just a little hole in the wallet and not a black hole next to my bank like the pulsar was. Might put my avcr on it but that's about it.

Nah they dont normaly go, Its a recommendation every 60k "give or take" you replace the clutch. you can search the net for maintenance of the Evo 9 should bring up alot of info there bud..... Yeah she does move, with the Evo 9 it has the mivec engine only the 9s and 10s have the mivec lump, which in a nutshell...... MIVEC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

they come with bigger turbos aswell.... "quite a bit bigger" so for under £1k "inc parts" with all standard internals ... just have to get a welbro, de-cat, intake, boost solinoid, or as you have avcr you should hit the 400bhp mark give or take. and so far iv been trouble free. I came from a classic STI and cant even begin to tell how much dif and better the evo is!! Being honest what cains the bank balance is the petrol they do drink!! mines a dam alcoholic lol. but you dont buy them for that.

Iv always loved the pulser, almost got one once but a friend had one and they have alot of issues lol. gear boxes, blowing rods, etc ... but always admired a GTI-R

There was a blue 320 on eBay that was relisted and didn't sell, it was on for a starting bid of £10,200 37000 miles then for £5500 staring bid - probably because of the time of year

I thinks the fuel cost has to be the only thing about an evo that I am not looking forward to! Yeah the pulsar has its fair share of problems and the gearbox being on of the main ones. Solid engines in them though.

There is a blue fq340 about a ten minute drive from where I am just now that is up for sale. Damn I wish I had 12k rite now!! It is mint condition and only 47k on the clock! Knowing my luck, by the time I have the money next year there wont be any about.

I don't know what it is about forecourt lights that make blue cars look awesome. Even my ZR looks good under those kind of lights.

When was this car on ebay. Am checking every day at the moment. The guy must of set the reserve at the original start price second time round and I think your rite about the time of year. Is there much difference between the 320 and 340 or is it just the map?

the FQ models FQ-300, 320, and 340 i believe are all the same apart from the map if i recall... only the 360 has added bits, engines are the same. Just down to paperwork the higher model the more desirable. :)
