I am at the moment looking at buying an Evo 4 in the next couple of weeks, so I thought a would join the site and get involved.

Thanks guys - I'll be on here a few times this week asking questions about what to look out for in buying a Evo 4.

Anyone got any tips?

Hey, welcome.. When looking for a 4 you would ideally be looking for one with lots of service history and receipts.. Make sure all the dashboard lights go on and off when you flip the ignition (ayc, engine etc).. Check for underside rust, and make sure the engine doesnt sound like a bag of spanners, also check for abused clutches

Thanks Skuff - all infomation helps. I've had other performance cars like a stage one 420bhp Supra, stage one 330 bhp Skyline R33 - just unsure what to look out for on a Evo 4.

I have heard horror stories about 'crank walk', thats my main concern about a Evo 4 - still not putting me off though.

Regarding 'crank walk' don't worry too much, I know some peeps are paranoid about it but as long as you get a good example you should be Okay mate
