Helix Twin Plate



Helix Autosport's Twin Organic Clutch Plate conversion complete with steel flywheel for the Mitsubishi Evo models 4-9. Utilising their many years of success in the manufacture of Group 'N' and competition clutch components, Helix use only top quality materials to provide the best clutch available for their sporting range. These twin clutch plate kits comprise a heavy duty twin plate cover assembly, 2 organic drive plates, release bearing and aircraft grade assembly nuts and bolts.

The organic plates used in this kit render it totally suitable for fast road and trackday use in modified road going Evo's, the kit can cope with 704Nm or 520lb/ft of torque. For motorsport use, we'd suggest you opt for the twin cerametallic plate kit.

Flywheel



Helix Autosport's Sporting Steel Flywheels are manufactured from billet Chrome Molybdenum steel and are manufactured to very fine, exacting tolerances. They feature an integral ring gear to replicate the original vehicle's dimensions, with a crankshaft to flywheel friction parallel tolerance of just 0.005mm. The flywheel mounting holes are precision machined to match the crankshaft flange and they are supplied fully balanced.

These materials offer superb strength, heat dissipation and enable them to achieve their lightweight characteristics. The race flywheels have optimal weight concentration as a central mass, to retain inertial energy and gain improved throttle response due to reduced mass outside the central hub. Suitable for use with types of clutch facing material, including organic, Kevlar, sintered iron and cerametallic type clutches.

Lightweight syeel flywheels require a lot less horsepower to rotate than standard flywheels, this saving in wasted power can dramatically increase the accelerative capabilities of an otherwise standard engine, in many cases the equivalent of an additional 25bhp.

Please note: When replacing a twin mass flywheel with a solid steel version, the standard rigid clutch plate must be replaced with a sprung type clutch plate to ensure a smooth take up of power on the transmission.
