hi all this is another mod update for my e4 :O) power fc tune
yes it was rolling road time for me :O) and i chose to have my evo rolling road tuned at hayes engineering " "oh no i here some of you say " what about that post !!
well what about it its just one persons opinion and that person aint me :O)
to make it clear before some one and his friend possibly read this and comment .
i had booked my car in to be tuned over 2 weeks ago ,my tuner lee arranged the details and no lee dont tune motec . he is a evo owner him self and tunes apexi power fc . i think he spends a bit of time over the road :O)
.
so rolling road tune my first one , they do say your first one is always the best one ! well to be honest i cant see how it could have got any better .
and if first impressions are any thing to go buy then imagine driving up to the front of a well sized unit then to have your own 3" exhaust and stereo drowned out by a full blown 600+bhp rx7 drag car being run up on the roller by steve from fc tuning . what a sound it made and a great start to a wet afternoon .
because they are very busy most of the time and i only get certain days off i had the last session of the day , but me being me i got there early to see what was what .i was to go on after the rx 7 :O) what a car ,,
i was greeted at the door by a polite member of bob staff who introduced me to bob not that i could here a thing over the rx7 :O) and was invited to watch till lee arrived .
and bobs gold chain !!! it aint that big . LOL
well his work shop is a busy place , there where a pair of evo's to one side a pair of civic's to another all in different states of tune . even so the place was as tidy as a bmw main dealer on a saturday afternoon .
i had never met lee before but he came highly recommended " cheers jamie" but had spoken a fue times about what i wanted
so you know my evo is a daily driver not a race car and all i was after was a safe map to make the best of the parts fitted " from flee bay mostly " .
i am not after a million bhp or a 1000rpm power band so i was never expecting to see the kind of power that lee / bob and steve from fc tunning got for me .
just like to say that while lee was setting up my car steve took a interest in what was going on and between them they safetly mapped my car
a big thanks to steve and his" calculator" :O) who stayed till the end and asked for no money , that how passionate these guy's are about was they do . :O)
the rx7 ran on longer than expected and i had some injector issues " lag times / flow rates " so we ended up running late to the point where bobs staff all went home . but again that wasn't a problem the three of them stayed on my car till they where happy . and i was even happier .
big thanks to bob for staying open late and again didn't cross his mind to ask for more money :O)
before my car even made the roller bob made sure it was mechanical safe checked the levels and pressures and made sure it had a seat cover and put on some gloves . its the little thinks i like as i am the only person that usually works on my cars .
i would like to show you a before and after print for my car but the first run was aborted as the af ratio was so bad that i cant even tell you the look on there faces when they backed off . so it was desided to do some steady state tunning to make sure all was ok before they put the power down . so slowly i saw the power rise 310/ 360/ 377.
how happy was i then the big one 409 / 415/ 419/ then 422.
it was then decided to cap the power under 420 only cause i dont have a forged bottom end yet . and my inter cooler was having a hard time , there advise get a bigger one , think i will :O)
so make of this what you want but in my honest opinion if you want a professional garage and need a tune give bob ,steve or lee shout . cause i cant fault them .
thanks again lads
i will be going back soon to see if they car tweek my cams a little , not for more power try and get some more low down punch :O)
the car now drives great smooth power with a big kick in the back leaving a even bigger grin :O)
