Have I broke my gear box

Hi any help would be great my clutch went last week I went to change down in to third and it wouldn't go in so I sort pushed it it to third which it did crunch a bit doing this when I dropped gear box the clutch was knackered changed clutch and now when I change in to third it grinds if I change it with out moving it will grind when putting it in third only if I keep clutch down it will select 3rd and not grind but soon as I take my foot of clutch pedal and try again it will grind again sorry if that's confusing but driving me mad

Drop and inspect the oil

Hi sorry what you mean drain oil and check the oil or drop box back out

Drain the gearbox oil and check for debris

Drain the oil he means, look for swarf, it sound like you have ruined the 3rd gear syncromesh

Ok cheers il drain it tomorrow and see looks like the spare gearbox is going in it then
