I have been getting involved with mapping ECU's and though a few weeks back it would be good to get some training so to speak so i had a look around the net for courses and supprize supprize no such course exists so i did not give up there and emailed a tuning company local to me Emerald they do the emerald ECU.

I sent an Email of to Dave Walker the owner of the company asking if he would be prepared to give me some advice and show me the ropes a few days went by and got a reply of him saying to call to arrange to pop over and see him.

Got up around 9am today ( day of work for me ) and phoned Dave at emerald and he said come over so i went of over to emerald. At the time he was getting an Elise on the rollers which had jenvy throttle body's and a few other mods and running the Emerald ECU so the car got strapped down the wide band up the exhaust and Dave was setup and ready. He was running the vehicle up and sorted out the fueling and the ignition as he was going then it was a case of polishing the map up and smoothing it over. He was doing multiple runs and using the data from the RR and log to see what was going on and was talking me through it as he went it was much easier to take everything onboard being show apposed to reading about it and the car was soon mapped with a nice smooth power curve and AFR's smoothed out in the final tweeks the car produced 207bhp.

Next on the rollers was a cossie that was simply in to have the mapped setup for running in purposes as its a new build.

Last car of the day was an Elise with a supercharger he started the inital setup of the vehicle and ran out of time so that will be continued tomorrow but i wont be there :( so will have to ask him how that got on.

I will be back over the again on my next day of so cant wait Dave is a very clued up person when it comes to mapping and im thankful he is willing to take the time to teach me

Ill let you know how my next session goes

sounds like you had a really good day, and as said most things I've found are often easier to pick up when shown have all your other bits turned up yet?
