Had a race with a s3 sportback very suprised

Hi guys just had a go with a standard s3 sport back and was very surprised I'm running 360bhp in my 8 and there only 270 and I imagine a bit heavier so why didn't I leave him for dead I'm a bit pissed to be honest lol

Either your not running 360 or he's not running 270 :razz:

He could be mapped and not saying, or your a bit down on power. Is yours a proven 360bhp?

Even with an extra 90bhp you wont smoke a car probably pull a couple car lengths in a straight line. Get the Audi in the twisties n it may be a different story.

No mate it's not proven but I've had some one have look at the map on my apexi fc commander and he thinks about 360 looking at the map and he knows his stuf it's Andy Clark by the way maybe its been mapped and he's running more like 300 plus it was quick I had I'm but it was quick

The tfsi engine is brilliant!!

If the s3 was stage 2 it would of smoked you!!

There is a 2008 black s3 which has been tuned by CAT in Norwich
Running 420 bhp with miltek, filter etc...

I had a little play and left it, did sound really nice tho,
He didn't have a chance around a few twisties

Nice cars them s3's

It dosent make sense tho surely it's about power to weight ratio and I have more power And less weight I'm confused lol I used to keep up with them in my 2002 Ibiza cupra running about 240bhp

Don't think they're as heavy as you think.

From whats been said, you could have actually done quite well against a tuned one!

Yeah maybe that's it I hope So anyway lol otherwise I'm worried. Gona get the apexi tweaked soon aneway so should be about 385 on the standard tubby which should make a small difference

There torque figures are awesome on the s3. Especially with stage 1 or 2 remap they can awesome torque figures. There's a company out there called revo and on my wife's A3 they claim stage one is 60 bhp and approx 80 torque so I would imagine what the s3 would push out.

S3's are not to be under estimated. They at a little lighter than the Evo but all credit they are solid lil cars with big power

To be honest I'm not really bothered who is the better driver rounds the bends it's all about straight line speed for me who has the quicker car . And isn't an Evo 1410kg and the sportback 1490kg

Just knowing when to change gear, and also how the car puts the power down on the road, it all good having 500 horse but if you can't lay it down it's no good

Clive atthowe tuning he done one when I was up there a whole ago, it's black with black wheels,
It's Always around near longwater, not sure on the full spec but it was making 414 to 417 horse on the dyno,

TBH if you are just after straight line power then a Evo aint really for you as they come into there own round the Bends :whistling:

weird as i smashed an rs3 in my 4 running just under 300 bhp! Tho it did start on a round about and i don't think he thought anyone could start and get round with out lifting ha ha evo can!
