Got it yesterday all the way from devon.. WOW.. can actually drive it instead of poodling on test drives.. got a VI GSR in silver with 40000miles. interior is immaculate, exterior is spot on apart for the obvious faded brakes..has ralliart front and rear strut braces and a ralliart filter other than that its standard.registered on a 'T' and in the lower tax bracket :D but ride is quite rough on anything but true smooth road which is a shame as i didnt realise this, and there is now a knocking noise from under on uneven ground  also there is oil spray from the rocker cover gasket or the exhaust manifold that im unsure of which, and im preety sure the idle valve is a bit tempramental so its booked in tommorrow at the local jap clinic for a check up.Its under warranty for 3 months so getting it checked out now before its too late to turn back...

Overall im a bit disappointed with the ride quality, feels like it needs a bush overhaul, very rattlely altough i have come from an audi..:D is this normal? Also i can hear noise from the drivetrain but it doesnt squak or whine you can just hear it working..is this normal?
And gear changes feel like an arcade games shifter on outrun or daytona racing. Is this normal?
performance wise im truly happy nothing can live with it it pulls like a train..

Sorry about all the questions and all the waffle im just panicking that i might have been sold a crapper

Cheers

Ash

That looks a stunner!

The ride is quite hard unless you have come from something similar. id see what the check up comes back with but none of that should have you too panicing.

1.9 roughly is 28 or so psi i would just stick with 32 all round as thats what i have my tyres and it feels fine, but then again its up to you, not sure if car would handle or feel any different with 2 different tyre pressures,,

hi your car looks great, the ride and feel is always going to be really different to a normal car we have a vw passat turbo as a family car and when i drive it now it feels like there is a pillow between me and the car and i cant feel what gear it is in. get the service done and enjoy the sound, bumps and thrill of a car most poeple will never have.
ps the cost is worth it. tyre pressure on mine is 2.2 bar front and 1.9 on rear(32 and 29 psi)

have fun

Right ive had it less than a week and theres a few problems that need correcting:

Rocker cover gasket
Front anti roll bar bushes
AYC flush and fluid as it wasnt done on the last service
Idle valve clean out
Base idle reset
Blitz boost gauge is not working properly :(

The firm i bought it from said it was serviced but on further investigation it turns out some things were missed so im not risking it so its also getting

Oil change
Oil filter
Transmission fluid
Plugs
HT leads :(

That should keep it running well until the cambelt service at 45000.. Anything else would you recommend???

Oh and the top list is all being covered by the warranty rightly so ;)

Absolutley.. i give the firm their due they havent tried wrangling anything just asked me to find out what needs doing then get a price and we take it from there..

First price sounded as though it was gonna be steep as they charge 75+ VAT just for an AYC change and quoted me £700 for a new clutch and they havent got back to me with a price yet.
So took it to a Evo specialists who charge £40 for AYC change and quoted me £500 all in for the clutch so i think ill use them for everything now. Also theyve quoted £280 inc for all the warranty work which i thought was pretty reasonable :D
