Yea I remember this. And pace ward used pic of it for a feature about car insurance in next doors wastegate chatter which was a bit weird.

Can't believe he only got done for careless driving ! Let's hope he looses his job cos that's not what I call moving it for a recovery lorry to collect. Well not for the reason it ended up being for anyway

The driver wasn't drunk mate. He was taken away then the police were given permission to move his car to a safe place for it to be towed away but the problem being the twat of a copper lost control and smashed it into the garden :wtf:

Did not realise the police had to seek the owners consent to move a vehicle, interesting. But can do under the request of a supervisor?

Clearly they were not moving it to a safe place for the recovery truck were they. More like ragging the arse off it round the block a few times!

I'm sure if I was doing that with a van from work then I would have been instantly dismissed and would prob struggle to find another job where I would be trusted with a works vehicle !

so if he chap was drink driving his insurance was void. then to top it off his car gets wrote off. so am i write in thinking he has lost the whole value of car now or as police were driving is it insured thru their insurance?

It will be insured by police, the driver was arrested for being over the limit on a road side breathalyser, which would NOT affect your insurance until the static breathalyser is used in the station to determine if you are over the limit, then you will be either charged or released depending on outcome.


I still dont think it would affect the insurance pay out as it was in the care of the Police, who are insured to drive ANY vehicle so the police insurance would of kicked in the moment the plod, launched it down the road LOL
