There's certainly some clamping down going on over there and not necessarily aimed at the right people.

Geoff, I am surprised you have had a ban at all mate. I remember reading a thread in which someone was (shall we say) ridiculing the flag squad and it was a 'staff' that commented at actually when threads were going a bit 'negative' it was your comments that took the edge of it and made there jobs easier.

Jonny, I lost track a bit on the discussion with Andy_F, but I actually understand the way he gets defensive regarding people saying about Unofficial trading by geekmappers, after all Geekmapped is just a website set up for knowledge sharing and I guess its p!55ing him off people are making money on the back of that name. This is just my opinion.

If it wasn't for the fact it is a business when all said and done, I would have suggested that they get rid of traders paying a trader fee and just let everyone crack on with selling parts. Obviously there would be some downsides to this, but it would put everyone on an equal playing field.

think you will find that you started going off topic and throwing acusations around that caused the problem, then you come on here and get all brown nosed,YOU started the ruck!! you will also find that 'staff ' can not close and open threads, only moderators can do this . Also you will find(but may not know as relatively new on mlr) that the forum rules are updated every year, so have changed over the years, therefore what may be seen as trading now, may not of been a year or so ago, the way you are ranting on over on the mlr anyone would think you are on commision from the traders:whistling:

How do you mean, 'brown nosed'? As in other member of this forum are brown nosing him? That clearly isn't the case if you read the thread and replies IMO.

Regarding the staff closing threads. You will find that a thread started by an R.O (staff) was locked when it didn't appear to be going his way. He may not have locked it, but it would have been at the request of the original poster that it was locked.

read the forum rules, a thread can be locked if going off topic etc etc, there is more than one reason, RO staff have no powers, they just sort meets , events etc and are a local point of contact for members,
anyway, dont want to ruin the kamar on here , so prob best to leave it at that....

I simply stuck to my point of view and opinion , as for the STAFF member who asked for thread to be closed it was clear to all who saw it the REAL reason it was closed, if you feel you have to justify this then OK, said person has also asked for his previous for sale threads to be deleted when people were looking at his for sale history something to hide ? or maybe you coming on another forum to defend his actions YOU are getting a cut from his UNOFFICIAL TRADING ???

oh yes, i have read all the threads you have posted on, and all without any proof, just accusations trying to cause trouble between members and staff, you're a s*** stirrer clear for everyone to see!!
How do you know that the said person has asked for his sale threads o be deleted?? you couldn't possibly know this for sure? again , more false accusations with no proof to back things up!! then you come on here like butter wouldn't melt in your mouth!
As for reading the rules, i was not trying to say you couldn't read, but how could you read the rules in 2008/2009/ and start of 2010 when you were not even a member, as said they have been amended every year to suit the forum, so unless this proof you have is from this year it was probably when different rules were in place, thats all i'm saying, also you are trying to say that all the moderators and admin are not doing their jobs properly, and are useless, otherwise how could there be any unofficial trading?? you are inpliying they are letting this go on? with andy, and lets not forget lee5, they both map cars , but dont advertise, its just common knowledge so members contact them like they do on here, i cant see anyone who is unofficially trading, so if you dont have proof keep your mouth shut, or stay on here where you are welcome!!

I understand the rules on the locking of threads. I wasn't implying that the OP locked the thread himself (I understand they have no powers),it was implied (and not just by me, other members over the road) that the thread seemed to get locked rather quickly when the general trend of the thread started to go against the OP.



I am certain Jonny can stand his own ground, but if you have read the thread over there, then you would see that there is more than one person who is implying that there is unofficial trading going on by said RO. Personally I couldn't give a toss if it is going on or not (but thats just me).
And there was more than one person that said if you looked back at the forsale threads by this person, there are enough to suspect him of unofficial trading, so the accusations are maybe not without substance (again, couldn't care less TBH)


Lets try and keep it as a levelled conversation if its to continue and not degrade it to a sh15 storm.

Anyway, we're due (long over due) a cracking weekend, lets enjoy it. take the car out for a drive (or polish....Geoff ) beer gardens, BBQ's.......happy days

yes i agree, that there was other, john@evobreakers who made accusations, but think he was jumping on the band wagon, as again no proof, and as you say who cares?? if trading or suspected trading takes place then it should be reported, if you look at alot of members thay have all sold quite abit, and so has some staff, it does seem unfair in some cases, but there are no restrictions on the amont you can sell, just the quantity of a said item, so if you tried selling 10 sets of brake lines then that would be seen as trading, another for example which could be seen as trading is, you could buy a car, drive around for a bit, sell some standard stuff off it when modding, then a month later, sell the modded bits, then break the whole car, buy another evo drive for a bit, decide not what i want and break it, but thats not breaking forum rules and is not trading over the road, its a very fine line reading jonny's thread.

Kev/Exeter, I think that you have made some fair points and I think that Jonny has also made some fair points too.

I also think you of all people should not come over here and start using terms like "brown nosing" etc. considering that you are MLR Staff and especially when you accuse me of coming over there just to ridicule you guys or "rub it in" when the shit hits the fan, even though I have valid points to make that are factually backed up.

You all might like taking the complete piss out of each other over the road but I will not tolerate it over here.

The difference between you being a Staff Member over the road coming here and me going over there is that I post in defence of your members rights and try to help them turn the wrongs into rights. I never use abusive language, nor do I try to taunt anyone in any way or talk down to anyone.

The only time you ever post over here is in an attempt to defend the MLR, or your fellow Staff Members.

If I was over there doing the same thing, I would have been banned a long time ago and you know that very well!!!

MLR Members, fully paid up or not, have a right to express their opinions do they not???

It is up to the rest to decide what they want to believe.


As for a temporary ban for going off topic repeatedly, that is just a ploy to try and control the members that Mods are threatened by and nothing more. You know this better than I do and there is no denying it!!!

Before I go, here is a reminder to you of why you actually joined EvoOwners in the first place buddy so please jump off your high horse and humble yourself a little, you are not different or better than those that you are judging over here:

such a friendly bunch on here, as you said, everyone is entitled to an opinion I dont know much about the mlr, have popped on and have received some good advice and picked up some good info, cant really comment about this site as yet, but you seem to only have 10 members compared to several 1000 on the mlr, and you know what they say about 2 heads been better than 1 so go take a chill pill PAL!!!
