Hi All,

I have just received a list of some of the mods that my new Evo 6 has had done to it and was hoping you could tell me what sort of power it may be running at, Here goes.....

Walbro Fuel Pump
Tomei Cams
Evo 9 Turbo
3" Straight Through Exhaust - (Not Cat Back)
Re-Mappped (I'm told to around 300bhp)

Does this sound about right??? I thought that maybe it should be running more with these mods??

I know this is a bit of a vague question as im not sure what pressure the boost is actually running at...

Any suggestions or help would be great.:)

Many Thanks
Steve

what cams are they?

is the turbo a 80 series?

you need to get a boost gauge on it to see what pressure its running as this will be a major factor as to the power output.

that setup with highish boost should see between 380-410bhp (rough guess) but as your on the stock bottom end people generally dont like to take them over 360hp (although some do run 400 on the stock bottom end)

.... I think i really need to get this motor on a rolling road and get all my figures right before i continue to play with it.... Im In Northants, does anyone know any good Evo specialists in the area that can check what she's running and fine tweak her!!???;)...

"Ideally i'd like to have a bhp and reliability test then see what she can really produce!!!"

Rumour has it that the last owner had a few extra mods and was running a comfortable 400bhp... these mods have now unfortunately been removed!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks Guys

there is no way to tell what level of power it is safe at.

as said before the weak part is the conrods, a few have run with over 400hp for some time with no issues but quite a few have also chucked a rod out of the block at standard 280hp.

so the only 'safe' way to up the power and make good use of the cams and 9 turbo is to get a 'rod job' done then the bottom end will be good for over 500hp.

Just going through some Dyno printouts that the previous owner had, it was running at 480bhp!!!! (With other mods removed) O M G.......
Driving the car today she does feel extremely quick and tight, i know some mods have been taken off prior sale.... but its definately quicker than my RB5.... That was running 310bhp!!

I am assured its only running 1.1 bar boost, but boost and pressure gauges are not connected.... Will it effect the cars performance if i re-connect these??

Follow what Sponners has said buddy.

I would want to know who provided the print out to be sure that it is accurate. If you give them a call they might remember the car and have it listed in their data base with a comment on what mods the car was running on at the time.

I suspect that the turbo has been changed since that time for sure.

Keep us posted on what your findings are.
