:shock:Hi well while doing my engine swop i decided to have the gearbox freshened up and checked over so got a phone call off my mate saying he had seen the gearbox man who is a good friend of his and he'd told him my box was f:shock:ked, All the problems that i reported were 1st gear had slight whine and 3rd was getting stiff through the synchro, anyway im straight onto g/box man no answer im having kittens,looking on flea bay too how much boxes are etc... So 20 mins pass no call back so decied to ring mate for more details he's chuckling to himself when i ring back saying haha ya box is knackered etc lol so i say anymore details oh 3-4 gears welded together then it clicked it was a bloody wind up!!!!!!!!!!!!
So a few choice words were exchanged lol and he said g/box man would ring me straight back.
He said box in very good condition needs a new shim between 1-2 as worn and that was noise in 1st as it also spinning 2nd gear, also 3rd synchro worn which he would replace.He is doing the whole job for £180 cash im happy with that cause he charged my mate 220 to do his subaru 3rd gear synchro :shock: should get it back early next week!
