Hello all the wife and I have just come back from oz after a extended honeymoon, I sold my beloved mr2 to go but were back she is talkin of babys so that means 4 doors I said I'll sort it so I really like the evo4 but am not sure were to buy a good one from beause I keep hearing about 'crank walk' not heard of this and don't want to get caught out

any help would be greatfully recived thank you

Welcome!
Some 4s do suffer from crank walk. It is pretty terminal for the engine, or an excellent chance to upgrade to a later engine
5s onwards dont suffer.

ah ok so is it a good advise to stay away from 4's or find one with a 5's/6's engine? After spending huge amounts on my mr2 engine the wife wouldn't be to happy with me doin it again

4s can be excellent engines and its not every engine which will suffer. You just have to be carefull and aware...

Ah ok so what things would I have to look for? Can a engine be saved and rebuilt if caught early enough or is it bin and replace job? Know off any 4,s for sale that you would buy? Sorry for all the questions andy
