bought my evo 4 there few weeks back
previous owner told me from it was converted to MPH the fuel gauge never read right
once it hits quarter full its empty

says its a common fault in Evo's once converted?

would a set of clocks fix this? maybe a new float/sender?

I would have said the float/sender is more the culprit not heard of a conversion messing up the fuel readings before, pull the float out and make sure it's got full range of movement easilyif it's slightly sticky that will be your prob

How on earth can converting kph to mph affect the fuel gauge!? And it's certainly not common. The bloke knows nothing ....

Yes the tank is under rear bench. You will find 2 inspection hatches as it's a saddle bag type tank because of the prop...

im not sure

but what i do know is that the light comes on at just over quarter full an the car dies at 1 nick under the quarter mark

sorry should have updated

got the sender out an all looks well
i unplugged the plug an the gauge dropped but not completely an the light stayed on
unplugged the other plug from behind the driver seat an the light just went off an the gauge red just under half way between quarter an empty

do i have to drop the tank out an sort this out? i take it theres another sender under the other flap?
