Front plate Evo V's

Hi all

Could some of you give me ideas

I got pulled up a couple weeks back £60 fine and ever since Ive been paranoid about using the diddy plate or a normal sized one.

Small plate = getting pulled again

Normal plate (square import one) = covers a daft amount of the IC

I know we're allowed a 3/4 sized plate by the DVLA but I still reckon I'll be covering lots of front mount with that, unless i mount it high on the mounting bracket which IMO looks pants and then covers the grill a bit :shock:

My ideas are

1. Sticker on the bonnet, Could still get a fine from a knowledgable copper

2. Remove the front fog cover and make a mount there and then use a legal 3/4 square plate like on the evo 6.

3. Evo 6 front bumper and plate, but my cars a V so this isn't an idea fr me lol

Any help and or pics would be great.

I had a sticky plate on m 8 on the left corner and at present cos I have a new bumper I don't have a plate at all not been pulled yet but give it time, I have one under my seat just incase

I had normal uk/euro number plate on my E5 and what are you going to do with the fixing holes in the front bumper if you relocate it? Blank them off, fill and paint? You could get vinyl sticker made with reg on it and place above front bumper splitter in the middle, below the IC.

I did the same in my old scoob, no plate for a few months and had no bother! I figured I'd get a warning first but was told about 15 seconds after they pulled me I'd be getting a ticket! It's not like it's non reflecting and dodgy font. It's about 5mm smaller on the font than we are allowed.

They were totally clueless about jap imports having smaller plates too, didn't argue much as there wasn't any point with my plate lol.

It's just the five bumper doesn't leave any room for a sticky plate, nor does the splitter

I'll either fill n paint or just use a black plastic strip on the original mount Phil74

By far the easiest thing to do is what Phil74 suggests. Use a normal UK plate
- no grief and doesn't limit air flow much if at all

Just after ideas carbon. Thought maybe something different could be cool n I don't mind having a play around.

If I was to go normal uk plate I'd get bike sized letters as we are allowed smaller number plates.

Like I said just seeing what else I could do before making a purchase

i havnt had this problem yet as i havnt changed my plates but i will soon so will let you know what happens,good luck with yours tho.
