Hello eveyone,
I've had my first Evo V for about 3 months. All was well until the battery kept dieing on me.
I found the cause of the problem was that the drive belt was loose so obviously the alternator wasnt putting any charge back into the battery.
The tensioner has broke off so i replaced this and also the belt. The battery being flat I borrowed my Dads car to give it a jump.
Now for the nasty bit...
Me being to eager to get my car started I put the leads on the wrong way.
After about 10 second of no power and realising I removed them and swapped them the right way around.
I put the keys back in the car, disabled the immobiliser and went to turn it over. It was turning over but just wouldn't fire up.
So im thinking bollocks, ive destroyed the ECU.
I called up an auto electrician and he was convinced it would just be a fuse. After the phone call and I had a thorough look through all the fuses.
I noticed that a blue 100A fuse had blown in the main box on the right of the engine comp. The diagram showed the symbol of a battery and theres two of those.
So my theory was one controlled a circuit of the electrics for things such as the immobilisers, lights, clocks etc. The other to start the car some how.
Ive replaced this fuse and still the cars turning but not firing.
The car seems to be completely normal, no lights on the dash display and sound normal turning over.
Any ideas please?
Im aware im a complete arse doing this in the first place and relying on my car for work its turning into a complete ball ache.
Id appreciate some help and advice.
Cheers,
Millzy
