Have any of you had problems come MOT time because of the wiper blades touching the strip?

I've done loads of searching over the past few days and it seems the rules are you are allowed 10mm overlap in the "A zone".....

Do I need shorter blades?

used to have them years ago and yea the rule was that the wipers couldnt touch but to be honest with how deep some people had them round here i wouldnt worry to much. most testers will turn a blind eye to things like that with the saying.. well make sure you take it off when you get home yea :)

it all depends who tests your car, if they spot on it cant touch if they dont care you will get away with it. best thing is to visit a tintin shop and have them put a tint strip along the inside, looks great they can do some patterns and you wont fail an mot

Grrr.. Sod it. Just going to do it. Just don't want it to be illegal. Planning on running with no front plate so don't want more the old bill can get me on.

Leigh, running with no front plate is probably more illegal than your wipers running onto the edge of a sun strip. Just get on with it :)

You can be failed for having the smaller wiper also. As Craig said, make it opaque and there are no issues, otherwise just have it so it doesn't encroach on zone A

Think i'll just fit the one I've bought and make it a bit slimmer. Probably going to wait untill spring now to avoid problems with the freezing nights.
