I think im gonna go for an Evo9 FMIC (probably GREDDY or HKS not sure at the mo.) Any other suggestions???
Just wanted a few ideas as to what people are currently running and any suggestions as to which particular make would be best suited for my car....

There's so many on the market at the mo and the prices vary massively "dont want to get Skanked"

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I've heard that the autobahn ones are quite good. But if it was me I thing it could be over kill unless your running 450 odd brake. With your set up mate I'd be going for a standard Evo IX cooler which is slightly bigger than your standard cooler and will flow just nice :)

From what Lee told you in the last thread that you posted buddy, you will not got wrong by following his advice as the bigger Front Mounts will take longer for your turbo to fill them up which means slower out put.

If you had a bigger turbo, it would be worth while going after market. The bigger ratings on the horsepower are based on bigger turbo's which is what a lot of people do not understand.

The rating is given so that you can calculate if it will be a viable choice for the turbo you are going for.

I suggest you follow what Lee has stated above, to the letter.....You will be better off for it! ;)

Cheers for the back up el :):)

As el said if you go for a greedy or hks cooler then they will take so long to fill up with charge air that you'll probably loose power. The IX turbo and intercooler were matched up by Mitsi and is more than up to the job

Just reminded me actualy that mate of mine was running 395bhp on his IX with standard turbo and cooler. Then fitted a larger ams cooler and upped the boost from 1:90 to 2:10 bar boost. Was then dynod at 396 bhp on same rollers. Then the turbo was swapped for something bigger :)

So proven that bigger than standard cooler matched to a IX turbo will give you no gains over the standard IX cooler.

Don't waste your money :)

People are enticed by BHP ratings without understanding why they are given.

If the manufacturers or retailers made the effort to educate the consumer than they would not sell a single item unless it was coupled as a kit.

Bigger Intercoolers are a complete waste of time unless you have a bigger turbo, or a turbo with a fast spool up.

The last post offered up by Lee should serve as food for thought.

It is just money wasted in my opinion.
