Afternoon all. I am thinking of fitting an Evo 9 turbo to my Evo 8 GSR 260 as I am having issues with the turbo holding boost, possible waste gate flapper or actuator issue's. I am just wanting confirmation on the parts I will require and where the best place would be to source the parts. And has recommended gb-ent.com for the turbo which is £800 new. Iirc, I will need Evo 9 turbo coolant pipes and oil feed and return pipes, although I have heard the oil return pipe does fit? Someone also mentioned the Evo 9 J-pipe due to fouling on the starter motor?

Thanks in advance,
Gaz

Would you not just replace the acuator first to see if that cures your problem they are only around 80 quid?

Well I have thought about that but the actuator looks pretty new so I think it's been replaced before. If I replace the actuator and it's still the same it's £80 and time wasted

hi gaz,
yeah the lines are different, although I've been told the the lines can be bent to make it fit. also the j pipe does fowl the starter so either need a 9 one or reshpe the 8 one

hi gaz i have just fitted an evo 9 turbo to my evo 8. all i did to my oil and water pipes was to bend them to make them fit and it work ok the same with the j pipe a bit of wood and a hammer. one thing i had bother with was some new studs for the manifold. m10 bolt with a 1.25 thread

you can get away with bending oil feed and water pipes but i would get the proper E9 j pipe so the little it costs..
