after some research this spoiler has been tested on a carbon boot with steel plates to 174mph so steel plates it is I think ill have them cut to the size of each section between the frp struts and fixed down to that ....

yep and according to my source who owned both the wing and carbon boot ...two 3mm s/s plates 75mm square !!!

I've had some 3mm stainless plates made up 2 3"x3" and 2 4"x4" just in case....operation "UCkin GREAT wing" should hopefully start tomoz

The bigger the plates the better I would have thought as will spread the load more.

I'd go for the 4" plate.
