what happend nick and whats your plans ? :)

big bang lost power steering and noticed a pulley in the rear view mirror! luckly it was just out side my house! So can't drive it need's picking up so by the time a pay for that and then to be fixed thought may is well get it rebuild. Bit's going in are from an e8 with hopefully an e7 tub with 10.5 hot side. Got some 8 cam's to but need to check they Mr! The goal is 380-400 which should be loads for a 4 then get it on track! :)

how do you tell if they are 8 or Mr cams? Are 8 Cam's better than 4's other than being newer, and if there not Mr cam's what are std 8 cam's good for? Thanks ;)

Std 8 cams are no improvement on the 4 cams. Mr are what you need or aftermarket 264 or 272

I have 8 and 6 cams here. They have serial numbers on the end. And the 8's are hollowed out compared with the 6's

car got dropped on Wednesday with Chris so just gotta start getting the bits together now. Been thinking over the last couple of day's and to save some money use the 8 Cam's that i've got which i think are not Mr's but are alot newer than the 4 one's in there and im going to do the lash's so may as well. But what sort of power will these make with a 6 turbo?? Then next year a can get some mr cams and an 80 series. :)

Gains you'd see using mr cams would be minimal. Better of with 264's as you still don't require springs retainers upgrading.
9 turbo would see you in the region of 400bhp before you start maxing your injectors and need them upgrading :)

Do it once do it right. Get some kelford 272's and fit hd springs and retainers. It's cheaper to do it now rather than have to pull the head off again to do it later :)
