fast road brakes

Went out in car today little blast and got some major brake fade. I'm pretty light on the brakes too. Scared me at the time as there was an old biddy doing 30 haha.

So with out wanting to spend a fortune what should I look towards? Discs and pads or just pads.

Need something that bite hard

Get HEL brake lines too if you haven't got them.

I was running performance friction disks, ds2500 pads, and HEL lines. No fade at all on the nurburgring and none on the track day I did.

Now running full ksports with ds2500s all round

godspeed discs yes but swap them pads for carbotec and youll wonder how you used to stop before

You have to keep putting your eyeballs back in there sockets whenever you brake hard :razz:

Godspeed sells the discs around £200 - plus pads which you choose.

I have the xp10 pads god do they stop but you need ear plugs for the squeal you get and not just under braking I get it at 30mph driving through town spent this morning cleaning out the pads and calliper a still got the squeal!!! Now wanting to move away from carbotec pads altogether but not sure at all what to go for. defo don't want the squeal but the standard pads are just not up to the job anyone any ideas?

You might struggle to find pads as good as the XP10 without squeal, I have them just now and I know exactly what you mean but then all the other good pads I have had were the same.
I prefer Ferodo DS1.11 to the XP10's only because of the initial bite you get is a bit better than the XP10 that need a bit more heat in them, they are both as good once you get them going but they will squeal fully as much.
Both may be a bit over kill for the road anyway though, the XP8 may be better suited, I've never tried them.

Glad I am not alone on this one! could it be that they are still the original discs that is not helping? Maybe grooved or drilled and fresh pads maybe the answer? had the car from new 7 and a half years only done 23,000 miles and about 18,000 when I changed them to the xp10's the discs had plenty of meat left on them so did not want to spend the extra unnessarily maybe I should let the moths fly from the wallet?!!!!!
