Fan stopping when car is turned off.

My fan runs when the water temp gets to 100 degrees just as it should but, even if the temperature is still at 100, the fan stops when I turn the car off. It's supposed to continue, isn't it? Surely the heat will just keep building up in the engine bay.

I thought cars only went to 90°C?? 100°c sound hot to me.....

Mine switches off, theres no need to carry on, no more heat being generated, and heat disperses relativly quickly.

mine goes off when I take the key out. This is normal
