Failed noise test-options

I went to Barkston Heath for a noise test today as wanted to make sure I would be ok on the upcoming trackday on 26th April at Blyton Park

Turns out I wasn't ok as I failed!

3/4 of rev range, on the Evo is 5250rpm and it came out at 109.3db and nearly set fire to the test probe :whistling:
Tried again at 4500rpm and it was 105.6db

I knew it was loud but didn't realise it would be that loud!

They don't think a removable baffle would quieten it enough so I was thinking about having a silencer welded in, the exhaust is a 3" Magnex, does anyone have any suggestions as to what best to go for?
Or do I refit the original CAT?

I love the sound the exhaust makes and refitting the CAT would just be for the trackday.

Would I need to get the map tweeked if I refit the CAT or add an additional silencer?

Buy a silencer just a universal fit job off eBay that has 3"bore and chop it in place of your decat pipe.
Took 5-6 decibels off of my last car

just had same problem with mine, system on the car when i bought it was to loud.
bought a toyo system same 3 inch bore didnt think it was going to be any quieter
but put it on yesterday and it is alot quieter
put it down to the 90 degree bends in the system where as old one was straight back from decat.have tried baffles before without great success think you will need map tweeking if you put cat back on

I've put a silenced decat in mine and it's made it quite noticeably quieter.

Heard back from MG Auto's where I took it to have the exhaust quietened down and they've got it to 98db, so pleased with that.
