took the car for its mot today and it failed, there is a full ss system on it and apparently no cat is there any way around it or am i going to have to buy a new exhaust with a cat

Slip the tester a tenner to pass it !

It's a load of crap anyway cos it's another one of those things that is tested once a year and it only matters at time of test so doest matter emissions you have the following day as long as it's right on the day

You don't need whole exhaust just the cat it the mot inspector won't play ball. They usually sell for around £50

theres a couple of cats on ebay but i think mine has a full 4" ss system (no decat pipe) so without buying a complete standard system im buggered

Think you'll find it's a 3" system as I've never heard of anyone fitting one that big before.

Standard cat is only slightly smaller and so will be fine to drive steady just to get you through the mot
