Having just bought my new X, 2010 plate.
I noticed the diff fluid found in the boot appears to to under minimum level.

The bloke at the service center said that that could be cos the engines cold and it should go up to normal level after running?

is that the case?

or if it is low at all times, then why could that be? anything serious or does it just run low sometimes like oil?

can i just top it up?

Check it when the engine is off, every time I checked it with the engine on after just starting it, the level was below the line.

i did. thats why i asked originally. then i took it out quick to see if it changed.
although it was dark, it looked the same level. about a Centimeter under the MIN level.
