Evo X 3 week itch

I've had my Evo X for 3 weeks now and I'm looking to increase the drama within the cabin to make it a bit more involving.

My first though was to fit a dump valve but than I saw on You Tube someone had a K&N Typoon intake filter fitted which made the stock BOV sound a lot better as well as an increase in noise. On another forum they said that I would need to have the engine remapped as the filter could cause turbo stall! anyone confirm or deny this for me?

Any suggestions to make the engine noise a bit louder in the cabin?

Yeh a K&N induction I have for sale as its too loud for me ;) it's in the forsale section:D
Mine sometimes suffered from over boost but this was because of the exhaust & K&N combined as its a HKS high power pipe

Too loud?? :p

Remap is worth every penny mate, combined with the stage one mods will be a noticeable difference. Surprised a air filter can give over boost, but then again someone said a decat gave them the same.

Have you got all the fittings for the kit as I'm really interested?
What happens when you experience over boost?

Dirtmatt
Wheres the best place to get mapped, I'm in Leicestershire?

Yes I've got everything for the kit including instructions,
When mine did it it was just know and then in 3rd while givin it some the ecu would send it into safe mode then you just let off and back on then your away again ,it does make the standard recirc valve sound like a BOV which is good, but I didn't like the intake whoosh noise ;)

I assume that a re-map will solve that problem?
If I bought the unit I'd probably want to get a stage one re-map any idea how much this would cost? and where I could go to get one?
Would a complete novice be able to fit it?

I got quoted £475 for a map off gr performance but he'd only ever done one x so I didn't bother ,to be honest it did it about 6 times and that was after fitting the exhaust ,and it's easy to fit pipes off pipes on and there's pictures in instructions ;)

Any change to air flow, wether intake or exhaust side, you should atleast get afr's checked.
Full stage 1 you'd want decat, fuel pump upgrade, air filter at least... If you only have 1 then no real point. Because each time you add a part you'll need another remap....

Do a google for evo tuners in your area as I'm not sure who are near you to recommend.

Hi Mate - a little bit of a trek for you but i'm going to NR Autosport in Lincoln for my map - it's £420+ VAT I think on a 9.

These guys know what they are doing as they setup cars on a daily basis for track (timeattack cars).

Also Simon on here does a mobile service in Midlands area so he maybe able to do this for you and (don't quote me!) cheaper too.

There are other is the midlands area but I have heard mixed things about them so won't recommend them as no experience and will leave for other to confirm if any good or not.
