Hi looking for some advice for the future of my Evo VII.

So far Its had full stage 1 (I`ll try to find out exact parts) an evo 9 turbo, swapped the VTA dump valve for a nice shiny recirc system.

All the engine internals are stock, the next bit on my to do list is clutch and gearbox, I was wondering if anyone had any advise on clutch`s such as expected milage, number of launches, price? As for gearbox i was simply going for a fresh stock 5 speed so i knew the milage on it (unless i can stumble across a dog box at the right moment)

Also where would i go from here with regards to power? A friend said to hunt down what each internal part can take regards to power however being a mechanical mong i`m struggling to decipher this alien language

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You need to work out what you want the car for ie track or road etc. Whats wrong with the current gear box

It will stay a road car as i use it for day to day use when i`m in england, at present i`m aiming for 500bhp and i will take it for some track days when i`m happy with the setup.

There isnt anything wrong with the gearbox apart from fourth being a little rough if you change too quick while pushing it, however i felt it was worth putting in a fresh one while having the clutch done.

You'd be looking at getting it forged, I then run something like an s205b if you wanted to stay with a 2litre or goto a 2.2 or 2.3 stroker to get more torque

Both you'd be looking at pistons, rods, injectors, bearings etc and the strokers also a crank

A s205b being a turbo? I`ve heard mention of using a GT35, would a s205b be more suited?

I take it the standard internals wont take that much power then, so further increases i would be looking at the above mentioned?

the standard internals aren't much use after 420bhp so if you want 500bhp then you'll have to forge. The GT turbos generally need manifolds and down pipes as well but the 205 is a 500 bhp stock frame turbo.

A GT35 should see around 600bhp

Ah magic i`m starting to understand bit by bit, In all honesty i`m trying to keep to the reality that once at 500bhp i will get the itch to build bigger.

With regards to clutch, any suggestions for something that will take the proposed power? At the moment i`m looking at exedy twin plate`s but again this is taking time to search around and decipher the cryptic language.

Thank you for bearing with my simple mindedness here!

the exedy's are good for about that kind of power, if your looking to go more power in the future then it might be worth looking at something like a carbonetic carbon twin as they can handle 800/800 bhp and lbsft where are the exedy is only rated about about 510 lbsft

its worth spending a few more hundred now and fit and forget than to spend now then have to change in the near future
