Evo VI - Useable daily driver??

Just two days ago i bought an evo 8 gsr tuned to 377bhp. Runs so sweetly, i hope to God i never have any major problems with it!

The only thing nagging me is the steering is slightly moving to the left at slow speeds. To be honest i havent checked the tyre pressures yet but visually they seem ok. Can anyone tell me if I need to get my geometry done or something else?

I have to agree with Quakes on this one buddy.

Go to KwikFit, it will be a hell of a lot cheaper and get then to check the tyre pressures first to make sure that they are OK just in case. You may want to check the tyres to make sure they are the same sizes and that they are not rotational that are on back to front too!!

All right buddy, defo go for it, I just bought my self a 4 a couple of weeks ago, services are not to expensive if you are doing them yourself or if you know someone and petrol isn't actually as bad as some may make out (obviously drinks if continously giving it pain) if you want to go for a spin in one to make your mind up ... give me a shout im not to far from you, just through in hamilton

Best decision you could possibly make buying an evo.

I use my VI as a daily driver, yes it's expensive, but it's worth it

I use my tme as a daily and it's alright to be honest. Obviously cost a bit more than a normal car with service intervals etc but its great fun. Especially when the weathers nice!

Not sure on mods yet if I'm honest!

I'm not overly worried about the consumption either. I currently drive SN impreza and my daily commute is sub 25. Plus I cycle most days

if you buy a average condition with around 50/60k id use it as a daily driver, the biggest cost is fuel around town, running costs parts wise depends on how good the car is that you buy if its cheap and tired you will pay big time in repair bills so buy wise and get a good one,
remember 6's are old cars now so theres a lot of knackers out there that suffer from ROT

Required engine work???

IV's are great for the money but are haunted with problems that were fixed on the later cars.

I wouldn't buy a IV unless its got a later engine in it, though many have proven its not as big a problem as what's been made out.

My V isn't a daily at all, would say my biggest expense is the modding bug, upgrading, improving all the little things adds up fast! :shock:

But I wouldn't go back at all its awesome! :awesome:

Yeah I've read up quite a bit on the VI, V & IV

There are a few local to me, best just to get looking at a few a check the usual spots eh. I'm currently running an Impreza Type R - the modding has struck on my last 4 Impreza's. fortunately that has been the only real expenses
