Well after months of saveing i have finally saved enough to by an evo

Need some advise if possible going to have a look at a evo 6 Tme in black he tell me that only 250 tme's were made and only 25 in black....is this true? is there a way of checking by that i mean did the tme's and like a special number.

Also its got 98k on it with service history all the way through would this be about right?

And what would be the common things to lookout for please? and what sort of price would a clean one of these normally cost?

sorry for the questions but after saveing for ages i want to make sure i get the right one :D

The miles it has is about right, tho ive seen them with a lot less but also with more, ive seen TME's for sale from about £5.5k upwards.
Common problems check all the lights come on when the car is started but then go out and stay out, check for rot underneath, has it been undersealed?,sometimes people freshly underseal them to hide rot so check it properly.
Try and take someone with you who knows Evos if possible?

I've seen the clean ones go for more than 10k cheap ones will be sheds I'd imagine.just depends on mods etc.

As said the usual evo checks there's nothing much more different on them to a 6.

That mileage is pretty normal :D

Seen that one advertised. Guy clearly dosn't know about the other 2250 that were built and sold in various colours and trims around the world.

Check the VIN (chassis number) should start cp9a 0200******if its a genuine TME I think.

Sure someone will correct me if im wrong :D

I heard there were 50 of each colour brought over officially, white, red, black, blue and silver. I might be wrong but I'm almost sure theres more than 25 in black

Looks really nice mate. Don't seem to see many in black.

Can't remember when the cam belt is off the top of my head. Maybe 40k? Please don't quote me on that though.

As said with the rot thing, ensure you take a torch and check up an around the rear chassis legs, I'd take a big flat blade too and give it a good poke around too personal.

When diving, listen for and knocks and bangs, turn on full lock and listen for clicking, could be worn transfer box bolts. Let it hit peak boost in a high gear or brake boost too to check the clutch is holding strong.

If its got any history from a tuner is call them too, generally most will tell you if the cars a bag or not. Hope that helps a little.

Recommended is 38-40K give or take and worth doing balance shaft belt too (so should have been done twice on that one). Look for 70-80K services to check it.

He should know when it was last done.

Check gearbox is still strong too, no crunches. Gearbox can be a little notchy when cold though
