Evo Servicing

Hey guy's and girl's,

I just picked up my EVO 8 MRFQ320 on friday, Its running 360 Break, What a car!!!!

Im from essex, brentwood area, does any one know or could any one recommend a garage for the servicing, as i rang mitsu main dealer and they want 500 squids for the next service thats due on it. im looking at doing most of it myself, But the AYC+ACD oil need's changing and that's not something i know how to do :sad:

Not sure what Evo specialist are around your way. Nothing that comes to mind unless your prepared to travel a bit.

I think we have a few from our neck of the woods so they maybe able to help out

If your handy with a spanner and tech minded ayc is a piece of cake. I gave my dad some dodgy directions over the phone and he did it in no time at all only thing is you need it off the ground. From memory release the ayc nipple, turn ignition on accelerator flat to the floor and the fluid will come out do up nipple fill up and bleed same way and top up. There is a how to on here I read is to the old man in the phone and he done it

Dont the ACD and AYC work together though on the 8's? Im not to sure about that bit too, i think that needs bleeding, but not too sure.

also, while we are on the subject, i just went for a spin and under load as i put my foot down the evo held back at 4000rpm and poped, done this twice, so throttled back a bit, and it hasnt done it sine, probs just done 20 miles in it and it is all fine now, it was a bit cold though i think, is there a feature on the evo 8 that doesent allow high performance till the engine is properly warm??

That hoding back at 4000 was Fuel cut, get the mapping checked if it happens too often..otherwise it was just the Maf telling the ECUthat theres too much airflow goin on..too much for the fuel system

Awsome, hasnt done it since, i thought it might be because it was a tad cold still but maybe not hey. its very wet out toight, i didnt think the air density can affect the car that bad, i mean i understand with aircraft as i fly but didnt realise it would affect the car like that. thank's alot. thats relieved my mind
