Evo product recall

Hey guys, I read earlier today on the net that their has been a product recall on Evo 4 and 5, anyone know if this is true? I read it was something to do with a fuel line replacement. Recently my Evo melted a piston in cylinder number 1 and I never had any warning of any problems or loss of power until it blew. I heard this is what happened with a few evos and this is the reason for the recall. Something to do with fragments from the suspension getting into the fuel line and onto the filters. Anyone clear this up for me please, as I'm having mine rebuilt with forged pistons and rods and a re-bore at my expense. Thanks guys & girls if any of you answer,

Hi, not too sure but I remember something mentioning something a long time ago. Unsure of how true this is. It would be hard as the Evo 4 and 5s are both imports so would prob. have to go to Japan to get it sorted!!

I'm sure someone will be along who might know if this recall is true or not.

Keep us posted with your progress with the rebuild :)

Hey guys thanks for your posts and your help, I called Mitsubishi and gave them my details and today just got a call from them saying my car will need to be booked in to have the upper suspension arms replaced. Your local dealer only has to send an email to japan and the reply I'm told takes about 2 weeks then organise to have it booked in asap. No other recalls on the car that have been noted by Mitsubishi. Hope this helps you guys if you haven't had it done already

Suprised at how many cars have not had the recal work done.
Mine was done years ago on my old car.

Just went there. They are looking into it and getting back to me during next week.

The recall on the Suspension Arms is old news but it seems to me that Mitsi are not trying hard enough, or not at all as it would seem, to get the news out there to the relevant owners!!!
