After quite a bit of reading over the various forums I discovered that the lacquer peel from UV damage is quite common place on the VIII and IX's.

I decided to tackle the blemishes I had on mine since I bought the car in March. From reading I was initially worried about suggestions of easily damaging the carbon but careful sanding with wet and dry has caused no problems. All prep work was completed starting with 600 grit wet and dry then progressing to finish with 2500 grit. Prep work done I have now decided to take it to a body shop and have it properly 2 packed instead of using rattle can lacquer from hellfrauds. Was quoted £45 and getting the car back on the same day.

No pics of original damage but it was a little like this.

will update post with how it looks after my prep work and after it is lacquered.

Cant seem to edit my first post so here are the pictures.

Example of the lacquer peel.

Part way through the sanding process. You can see the clear coat reducing and carbon coming through.

Finished product!! Really pleased that I spent a bit of cashola instead of doing it with a rattle can. Would never of got the same finish. What you see is straight from the spray gun no mopping or polishing. Its like glass!!! Will get a couple of layers of carnuba on in the next week or so.
