Buying a car from Uk does not nesessary mean your going to get a better car, if you buy a nice clean example from Japan you will have to SVA it tho remember.

Don't forget the pound to yen rate is poor at the moment too. Any car that is over ten years old only needs a MOT. Cars that are ten years or under need to go through the SVA test - this can be costly as it has to meet the same standards as a UK spec car of the same age, tyres can be an issue, fog lights, speedo etc. If it fails then its the cost of a retest.

You have to pay import tax, VAT, dock handling charges, there is £28 for plates then just under £80 to register the car with the DVLA.

Hope this helps a little.
