Just wondering if someone can explain this for me, I've lost all compression (and I mean all big fat 0 lol) due to a damaged valve, so stripped it down and only the cam belt to go.

But this is doing my head in, because of the screw driver going into oil plug at the front of engine. I'm putting all the timing marks where they should, cams, crank, balance shift top sprocket and oil sprocket but can't get the screw in, only goes about 10mm but if I turn it forward 4 teeth, then screw goes all the way, about a good 80mm

So what's the crack here as I don't want the balance shift to be out of timing and have to do it again, got enough problems because of a bloody spark plug (Thanks NGK:whistling:)

So is it already out, or am I missing something that is right in front of me lol

Thanks in advance peeps

Worked out that the oil sprocket is out of align, just need to adjust so it's back in line, just wondering now how to make sure top rear balance sprocket is at the right place is it like the oil sprocket and falls counter clock or clock if you align it with the timing mark and let it fall?

hi buddy .

so are you taking it apart or putting back together???

couldnt remember so looked on line should be

balance shaft just line up the mark on the pulley with the mark on side of the housing .
oil pump shaft . turn the mark on the pulley to the 12o clock position let it go if it falls anti- clockwise towards its proper mark its ok
if it falls clockwise turn it one full turn and try again .

if not use the screw driver method :O)

the rear one just line up the marks and all is good :O)

this kinda explaines the balance shafts a little :O)

Thanks for the reply bud

I'm taking it apart, to get the head off, as I've lost all compression in number 3, fitted new sparks and one decided to fall apart doh so I believe it's damaged the valve or valves. I've got everything off, it was just the timing belt and balance that need to come off so I can get the head off now but it's the balance belt throwing me out.

I think I over read the matter to be honest lol, I set all to timing marks tried to put screw driver in, but wouldnt go in so rotated again, and same happened, did quite a few rotations but the same, but when I rotated only the oil sprocket one turn the screw driver went in so that is 180 out, just needed to know then after I worked that out if the top left balance sprocket was the same or it just lined up with its timing mark
