Evo dyin out

Hey

My evo 8 has recently developed an issue were if i clutch it while cruising along and let the revs drop it dies out. If I control the revs on the way down then it settles and idles like it should.

Any info/advice welcome!

atmospheric dump valves can cause idle issues

also check vac hoses around inlet manifold and boost hoses for splits/leaks

It has been known to happen buddy!

You'll notice it will happen if you take your foot straight off the accelerator and down the clutch, the revs will drop right down and stall
To stop it happening when you take your foot off the accelerator leave it for a split second to let the revs come down a bit then you can down the clutch
I hope this makes sense, it happens to mine but stopped since I started doing this

You could try to abate it further by reducing the gap on your plugs to .5 which is an easy enough task to complete!

Replacing the Dump Valve with a Stock item should cure the problem.
