Evo 9 Wont rev past 1.5k HELP!!

Story goes:

Started the car left it on tick over which sounded pretty fine/normal. Wen't to give the car a rev and it wouldn't rev past 1.5k.

Checked spark plugs etc. and cylinder 4 plug was completely gone (ceramic had fallen off).

Sourced some new plugs, changed all 4 and hasn't cured the 1.5k rev limit. It's almost like a spluttering rev limit. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the car mapped? Might have valet mode, try pressing the accelerator for 10seconds or so before you turn it over and see if the engine management light flashes

It gets better. Was advised by someone to disconnect the battery for 2 mins and reconnect. Did that now the car wint spark!

Well...If only all problems were as easy to solve. Disconnected the battery a second time. Car starts and revs like normal!
