Evo 9 turbo on evo 6 engine

Hi there i am looking at upgrading my turbo too a evo 9 can someone tell me the exact one i need please as i am not sure which one it is and tell me what is also needed too fit this and best place too get these thanka andy

I believe they bolt straight on, you may however need to upgrade the oil and coolant lines, the 9 turbo you want is called "80 series" and they pop up time to time on here but im sure a trader on here can sort you out ohhh and ofc a remap to get the benefits

i agree dont fit unless youre gonna forge your rods at least

i was running 370bhp on a stock 5 engine with an evo 9 turbo and she threw a rod

Stick to the stock turbo if youre on stock bottom end

I automatically thought or should i say presumed the block would have been done :/ .... the answer to your last question is no 8 turbos and 9 turbos are different, the code you said TD05HR 16GB 9.8T is an VIII

The engine will be new where as a rod job wont be.

What parts would u include full gasket sets ? I havwnt owned the evo all that long so all advice is helpfull thanks

The full rebuild would be new pstons, rods, bearings, oil pump, block rebored, head refresh and much more, where as a rod job would use old/worn components with machined old pistons to accept new rods

It can vary tbh on what you want and parts etc but I would have thought 5-10k for a full build

I have a e7 and I'm in a Predicament about this as my mechanic said I don't need the rods done if i only want the 400bhp mark as he should know my car better then me (as he has just done my head gasget) but it seems to be a few on here saying that you need it done as Ive got most of the parts sat here just waiting to go on. Is it EVERY car that it goes on? Or is it just a couple as I really don't have the spare money left now, as I have just gone on my mechanics word.

Lots of contributing factors here, some can go below or above 400, remember torque, revs and fatigue are the main rod killers

So are you saying that if my mechanic said my car can do the 400 then I sould just go with him and with the parts that we are going to put on we can get more power. He he has said to keep it as close to the 400 mark and everything will be ok
