Hi. I've got an evo 9 fq-340 with the 6 speed box. Not too long ago it started getting a little hard to select 2nd and 3rd but it's progressed pretty quickly and now sometimes grinds pretty badly when trying to select the gear. 2nd is the worst but 3rd isn't far behind. I've done a bit of searching and found it's probably the syncros and was just wondering if there are any companies that specialize in this sort of thing or if I should just buy a second hand box and do a swap? Also I've seen there's some companies that sell stronger syncros to help stop this happening again. Has anyone got ant experince with any of these?

All opinions and ideas appreciated

Thanks

Hi buddy.

There are many speacialists that can handle a recon for you.

It mostly depends on where you are to be honest with you.

I can provide you with the details that you seek but without knowing your location, I am limited to what I can do as I would rather provide 3 great links, as opposed to a dozen that are neither here nor there.

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR USER PROFILE TO INCLUDE YOUR LOCATION.

OK.

The closest, from memory, is going to be our Chris, you can PM him right here:

Just tell him that El told you to contact him, he should be able to help you out, no problem.

If you can't get in touch with him, PM me your contact number and I will forward it to him.

Do let us know how you get on.

No worries buddy!

Another great guy is our Jamie.

He's not on here much these days due to other commitments but I know for a fact that he tinkers with them.

He may not reply to your PM's (some members have had trouble contacting him lately) but I have a couple of numbers for him that I can try if you get lucked out with Chris.

Jamie can be found here:
