Evo 8 vs 8mr and 9 exhaust manifold differences

Hi guys I spoke to my mapper today and he told me to go with my 80 series turbo I will be putting on my 8 I should get a 8mr or a 9 exhaust manifold as the bore is larger is this true and also i mite have one lined up but the guy is unsure if its a 9 one or not is there any way you can tell which one it is cheers lads

There isn't any difference in them as far as I know...
And there isn't any way of telling them apart either

O well that's pissed on my chips lol he was saying to me that when you put the two side by side you can see quite a difference in the bore size ???

Unless he's on about a manifold from a 8 FQ400 ?

Well the 400 comes with a standard looking manifold as the 340 but is actually bigger
And has a stamped Owen on it, I can't see the point of a manifold unless your heading for big power or got spare cash and wanting one for looks ( why I want one is for looks )
Keep what you're got

Port the stock one, can get 500bhp on a ported stock manifold with the right mods.

Well I'm only after 400bhp anyway so it looks like my standard 8 will do

I got a standard (non SAS) manifold spare.

Been sitting around as when purchased took me a month or two to look at it and then realised it wasnt the SAS version
