Evo 8 running 2.2 bar

Hi guys not sure if this is right but when I boost on ch4 on my boost controller it goes to 2.2bar or so .

I am not really sure if this is ok engine has had a rebuild by trl cheers for help

I think you need to turn the boost down until you've established what your engine spec is.

i dont know of any turbos that will run 2.2bar without destroying itself :shock:


also id be surprised if the fueling etc was set to run at that boost level.

you got a lower pre-set boost level you can use ?

Yeah it has I been running it low till today really my brothe changed it before we left with out me knowing as I left put me foot down had a nice shock as 4 wheels lit up the engine was built be trl they say it was rolling roaded at 389bhp

How can I find what turbo is on it as I can't see any marks on it

do not run the 2.2 setting mate. you will melt pistons if its running lean enough.


what did trl do to your engine ?

Rebuilt the whole engine pervious owner had it done I will look at paper work tomorrow mate

Defo change that boost level down though

drop to 1.5 max until further notice mate. might have been rebuilt but doesnt mean its all stong enough inc turbo for that boost level

had a look at paper work it says engine was forged arp bolts steel hbeam conrods and wiseco pistons does this help also car has a blitz boost controller cheers for help

I would still turn the boost down until you have the map/car checked if its topping out at 120 could be a prob on the map

i have noticed its got a 5 speed box in it instead of a 6
would that make it top out

No they are Jus geared different top speed should still be there

I reckon you have an rs box fitted !!

Me and you need to go for a drive to see how cars compare I reckon. Could shed a bit of light on the boost levels then.
