Evo 8 FQ330 and MR FQ340

This has probably been asked before so i apologise in advance if it has.

But apart from the cams and the obvious difference 10bhp and 15 lb/ft torque,what is the difference between these two models.

I originally wanted an fq340 mr but i have seen an fq330 local to me with 27,000 miles and one owner from new.

Any help appreciated.

Seats, turbo, are also different.
Do a search for thread titled model differences on here which I did and you'll find all the info there

Seat are the same fq330 has the ralliart seats which are the same as the fq340 legged and acantara ;-)

Would go for the fq340 purely for the stronger bottom end ;-) but they a better spec stock.as lee said have a look, would depend what you want

If your going to forge just buy a 260 and save the money!

Yeah I will be forging eventually but it wont be for a while so I think Ill go for the fq330 or fq340 MR at first, enjoy it for a bit and then start my build.

depends what power your looking for. a 260 is good fo 400 but if you want more then it makes no difference fq or mr
260 does have the stronger 5speed box though

I completely understand that. I have just been looking and it is amazing what you can pick up for your money now.
The 260 has stronger rods than the fq330 doesnt it? Which maes no sense to me at all lol
I just hate the blue interior that the 260 has mind you thats not a difficult fix.

I was taken for a drive in an evo 8 running 400/400 earlier and it felt sluggish compared to the nova :wtf:
At the end of the day I wont be happy unless it is 600bhp+ when finished


This is why I am glad I havent rushed into anything
