Hi Guys. I am new to the forum. In fact this is my first post.
I have recently purchased an Evo 8 to use as a track day car.
It has standard sized Performance Friction discs and pads and original Brembo calipers. They are just not upto the job i want. So i fitted a set of Carbone Lorraine RC5 pads to all 4 corners.
This has transformed the stopping power of the car but when i apply a real heavy pedal at high speed the ABS kicks in and makes the car almost impossible to handle.
I have thought about changing the brake set up to D2 Racing 330mm discs with 8 pots front and 6 pots rear. Would this help cure the problem of the ABS coming on all the time or would it exaggerate the problem.
The car has Falken road tyres on each corner.
Do you think that new race tyres and the Carbone Lorraines RC5 pads would work well together without bringing the ABS on prematurely.
I know i could disconnect the ABS for track use but i would rather have it than not.
I have a big BHP Sierra Cosworth with a big brake kit and it dosn't bring on the ABS unless driving in wet conditions. It runs road legal tyres.
Any help appreciated.
