Evo 8 a/c pump

Hi everyone I have just got home and my car sounded like a bag of spanners,
So after a good look around under the bonnet, I noticed the ac pump pulley/clutch stopping and starting,
So I turned off engine and the a/c clutch was smoking a little bit,
After a while I started it up again and the rattle is still there,

Am I right in thinking I get a rs belt so I can use the car until I get a new a/c pump?

Would I come across any problems if I go the whole hog and remove the a/c set up(rad condenser pipes etc)
