Evo 7

Hi I am thinking of buying my first evo and what looking at the evo 7,8 but what is the really difference between the 2 other that bumpers etc
As what are your reviews on the 7,8 as I am going to have a look at a couple at the weekend.

That last link you gave me both 7,8 have the same bhp if that's true I'm thinking why pay more for the same bhp?

8 came in many difference guises remember the FQ range on top gear?

There was a range on bhp models

Was an FQ 400 on there (400bhp from factory)

But end of the day most stage one mods will get any of the cars up to 400 ish the later models do it safer than the 5/6 though as the engines are stronger 7/8/9

If your thinking is bhp then buy an earlier car as they are all tunable to the same level....

At the moment it's between a 7/8 the 9 is just out of my price rang I can get a 8 for around the same price as a 7 so leaning more towards the 8

The 8's better looking in my opinion and newer so why pay the same for an older car??

The 8 is the better looking of the two, but fundimentally the same car. Only difference I'm aware of apart from intirior and exterior is turbo, exhaust and cams but then I'm prob wrong on that anyways. Bottom line, get the one you like the look of, they both tune the same and you can always swap body bits between the 3 models anyways

Fairly sure the 8 has an upgraded rear diff, uses a planetry gear set rather than a bevelled gear so more torque can be transfered left and right, AKA "super AYC"

Due to money commitments I can only afford a evo 7 now I'm thinking of updating it to around 400bhp. Can that be done with the standerd gearbox etc?
What colour would you guys go with grey or yellow?
If I go yellow I would get the bonnet and roof black carbon and black alloys.

Personal preference. But I like the yellow. Too many silver cars about.... Lol
