Hi guys (and gals if there are any lol)

In the next month or 2 I shall be buying a VII fq300.
I'm a mechanic by trade but I have no idea what I should be expecting to pay for a stock clean example with approx 50k(miles) on the clock.

My preference is stock as I'm planning on personally upgrading and tuning up to 350-380 (maybe with a little help here and there from a specialist along the way)

It seems 7-8k to me is what they're going for but just wanted to run it past you guys first.

Thanks in advance (hopefully lol)

All the best

Thanks for your reply.

So are you saying the 5,6,8 and 9 rot less?

Cheers bud

Ahhh I see, but that's personal preference right?

So what price would I be looking at for an 8 fq300?

Don't know what it is about the 7 that I like, just don't think ill feel complete if I don't have one to play around with, both behind the wheel and under the bonnet.

Do they have any common faults? (Especially expensive ones!)

Many thanks

The 8/9 are only a year behind in the rust stakes, we put a clutch in an 8 last month and it was terrible underneath, and I mean rotten, apart from where the ayc had been spurting oil, which was disconnected by the way,
Theses cars all came with no rust prevention, something I sorted straight away
Dinitrol wax oil is the best
Love my 7.

Let's face it, if it wasn't for the vii there wouldn't be an 8/9  :)

As said, the 8 also suffers, let's see what they are like after another 2 years :)

The lack of paint means most evos have rust round all the bolt holes etc around the slam panel and also the seams on inner wings :)

Just a case of finding a good example that doesn't have this or, getting it treated early on :)
