Hi and welcome to the Forum buddy!!!

I wish it was under better circumstances:(

Have you checked to see that all the tyres are the same sizes and that they are on the right way round??? It has been known to happen!!!

It could be any number of things, but you will have to run a diagnostic to determine which one it is. Don't worry buddy, we will help you through this.

What did the guy you bought the car off have to say about it and where did you get it from???

Chances are that the ayc pump has failed get the code read it will probably be code 82 pump fail

If you do have that code it will be worth getting the ayc fluid changed as the fluid could be old causing low pressure in the pump when it is changed make sure they use a Mut tool to do it this is the only correct way of doing it unless you know someone with Evoscan that could do it but even that software is not reliable when it comes to bleeding ayc systems

As jamie has said above,, get the fluid changed but make sure you have it bled with the MUT tool.

To show how important this is... i only gaurantee my ayc pumps if they have been installed by a specialist and bled using the MUT tool.

How much cheaper was it because of the dif issue???

Replacing a pump is not exactly a cheap and cheerful job buddy.

In light of what you have just told us now, I think it might be a good idea to change the dif oil and the AYC fluid. It might quieten it down a little and you never know, it might rectify the fault but I would not hold my breath.

The AYC fluid may need to be changed a couple of times but this will become apparent if the dif quietens down after the first change.

It is the cheapest way to go for now.

Maybe John or Jamie might have another view on it though.

A noisy diff would not cause the ayc light to come on first get the code read to see what the fault is

That is a very nice price, assuming that the cost to cure will be on the minimal side, you do have a bargain on your hands.

Follow what Jamie has said and get back to us right here with the fault code number.

Speak to you soon buddy.

35 you say pal??? That's a real close shave you had then because if I remember it right, there ain't a 35:D

I might be wrong, I very rarely am right;) Some one will come and correct me if that's the case then but in the mean time you might wonna take a peek at this thread right here. It also tells you how to clear the codes too so that might be a bonus in your case. Check it out right here

Sometimes it helps if you use the search bar at the top!
