Evo 6 turbo elbow to downpipe.

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this.

I am upgrading my exhaust system to a 3" from turbo back.

I have already fitted a blitz nur spec system from cat back and also fitted a Decat.
I bought a Perrin downpipe to go on the car along with a Autobahn turbo elbow which wont fit on the car. The flange on the turbo elbow side of the downpipe was bigger so we changed it to a flange the same as the other end.

The downpipe will not mate up with the stock turbo elbow or the Autobahn one (They are the same flange). Should the flanges on the downpipe to the turbo elbow be the same as the other flanges on the exhaust.

Hope that makes sense

Are they all for a 4/5/6? As the 7/8/9 have a different turbo elbow fitting to downpipe.
It also goes to show that trying to fit 3 or 4 different make parts in the same system, they wont match up exactly.

Yes they are all for 4/5/6 I bought the Nur Spec brand new coz i like the sound from it. Japspeed Decat and Perrin downpipe was bought from a friend.

The problem is not the fitting due to shape etc its the flange from the standard elbow does not match up to any flange i have regardless of make etc. A standard 3" flange from any other parts of the exhaust will not mate to it either.
I know the bore from the turbo elbow is not 3" but thought the flange would be the same.

Same shape, but holes don't match up?
Or
Flange surfaces don't fit flush, like one is at the wrong angle?

A standard 3" flange will bolt to it but would blow if fitted. Do you get bigger outlets on any of the turbo elbows?
The turbo elbow i have is the same outlet flange as my standard one? I was going to go for a japspeed but they are out of stock, not really too fussed about fitting it anyway as stock elbow doesnt look too restrictive. i just want to get my downpipe on to complete the system

pics would be a massive help matey. sounds like you could have later evo bits trying to mate with earlier ones as mentioned above though

If the bolt holes match and both the elbow and downpipe are 3" then they should not blow despite the flange being massively out of proportion.
The bolt holes should be equal distance from the center of the pipe. So the id of both elbow and pipe should still match if infact they are the same size.

Cheers RsvRob yeah the bolt holes match up and can be bolted together. The id of the downpipe is 3", the id of the elbow flange is 2.5". Should the flange on the elbow be the same size as the one on the downpipe and not out of proportion like mine is.
As i said i was just goin to leave the standard elbow on but that is exact same flange thats on the autobahn one
