Evo 6 Speedo!!!

Hi all....

I am new to to EVO scene...Recently purchased an EVO 6 which is AMAZING...

BUT....The speedo has stopped working...ANY ideas please!!

Hi buddy and welcome to our little Forum!!!

Check your speedo sender or the converter which may well be attached to it or on or near the gear box/behind the speedo cluster or in the engine bay attached to the bulk head.

Thanks Mate for your post have checked the sender and pin has fallen out!!! so have ordered new one.....have another problem though with door open light on dash flickering....any ideas???

Right buddy,
what you need to do is check in all of the door jambs to see if the sender switches are springing back out completely. They are small lobes that depress when the doors are open and send a signal to the ECU which sends a signal to the speedo cluster. It may be wise to lube them up a little and force them to come out as much as possible at the same time ensuring that they are operating as designed to do.

There will also be one in the boot panel and a couple under the bonnet.

That should rectify the issue.

If not, then you know where I am.

thanks for your reply.......have chacked all the sensors but cannot locate the ones under the bonnet.....any ideas???? many thanks

If you take a look near the area where the wing joins the front panel on the drivers side you will notice a black lobe. That is what you are looking for buddy.

fixed!!!

Hi mate have fixed speedo but still cannot locate bonnet sensor ???? looked where you said and no sign of it???

all fixed!!!! just a loose conection in foot well!!!!! think maybe had something to do with additional wiring from after market alarm.........happy days!!!!
