Hey everyone!

New to the site, only just signed up.

Having a bit of a dilemma! So I thought asking this in a Evo owners forum might help.

I'm currently stuck for choice on what car to get (Title should give it away!:awesome:), I have the budget for both cars but I can't choose which one. What would you guys recommend? Has anyone had driving experience in any, if not both cars?

Lorenzo. :p

Hi mate, I haven't got or drove a 6, I've got a X, but my sons got a VXR and its a great motor, he's had it stage 2'd at Cortneys though pumping 310bhp n 360lb.
I'm only guessing but I suppose it would be cheaper to run than a 6, but surely it's still got to be Evo!

Welcome along. Two completely different cars to be honest, as nice as Astra vxr's are they are still a fwd hot hatch, they sound great when tuned, but they don't handle the power all round like an evo would, you can keep piling power to an evo and it will keep amazing you and the grip....... If you can afford to run an evo do it, if you want more mpg and a nippy car the vxr,

Don't like the vxr's everyone I know who has had one now have a focus
Depends what u want the car for
If it just flying around town with ya mates get the vxr for fuel and upkeep prices also tuning prices
If you going to go on track or drag as well and cost your going to deal with when it happens then the Evo all day
In my opinion I thought about selling my Evo and buying something else but so far nothing has come close

as others have said,if you are going on running costs then the VXR would be your choice all day long,if you want grip,grip and a bit more grip then its the Evo,also the Evo would be more tuneable and would handle more power much easier, where as the VXR wouldnt as its fwd and is pretty powerfull standard for a fwd car.

Evo any day.. Better handling car, and more pontial but would be biased. Do like e vxr but think the 888 is better ;)

This^^

To be honest. most, if not all members on here will say evo as it's a evo forum.
But the truth is 4WD is always better than FWD. you get better grip around corners and pulling away.

Like mentioned above. what do you want the car for?

Yes the astra's are nice and newer/more modern than the 6 but it's in a completely different league to the evo. Evos are rally cars at the end of the day :cool:

Hey, Thanks for the replies!

I know posting on here is a little biased but posting it on a VXR forum is also the same, just seeing what peoples opinions are.

I'm looking for a high performance car, I know running costs will be higher than most but I think I could look after it. I'll use the car more for weekends then anything so I wont be doing to many miles per year. Plus they are so very good looking, I think the best looking out the lot! :)

I only use mine at the weekend. If thats the case then Evo would be your car. There is nothing like going out at the weekend and throwing the car around, and I do mean throwing it around the corners, The grip is insane!!!. After 5 days driving the daily car, the evo feels like a complete beast!!! 300hp and 4wd is awesome :D (I have a stock TME).

JDM FTW

Looks = Evo 6
Power = Evo 6
Handling = Evo 6
Tunability = Evo 6
Comfort = VXR
Cost to run = VXR (Slightly cheaper to run)
Most common = VXR

Evo 6 would be my preference after driving both, and owning an evo 6 ;)

Get yourself a R34 GTR V spec II. Then swap it with my TME with very low miles :)
